A BIG SUCCESS FOR COMPANIES STARTING UP IN LYON!

24 feb. 2012

2011 was a very good year for Aderly, which, once again, successfully promoted the economic attractiveness of the local area, thereby drawing new companies here.

In 2011, The Lyon Area Economic Development Agency assisted 60 companies in their development in the Lyon area, thereby generating 608 jobs immediately and 1,345 jobs in 3 years. 40% of these new companies are in the life sciences and clean technology: sectors in which the region excels.

Lyon attracts foreign businesses

Once again this year, Lyon attracted many foreign companies, as 55% of the projects involved foreign capital, coming in particular from Germany, North America and Japan. This internationalization of the region is thanks in large part to the outreach work performed by the people at Aderly.

Among the major companies that have set up for business in the area recently are the Japanese firm Toshiba in the Confluence district, the American group Baxter, the second-leading company for medical equipment for hospitals, and Oprhoz, a subsidiary of the major consultancy, McKinsey.
