An Airbus A319 flying the colors of ONLYLYON took off this morning for Lisbon, on the inaugural flight from the easyJet base at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport.
The partnership between the leading European low cost airline and Lyon became a reality with the departure of the first easyJet plane, flying the colors of ONLYLYON. The project was made possible by the active involvement of local players in both the public and private sector.
With the launch of easyJet's first French base outside of Paris, Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport will continue to play a vital role in the economic development of the Lyon area. The opening of the hub and five new lines will significantly boost leisure tourism in Lyon. The airport handled 7 million passengers in 2007 and now expects to welcome more than 10 million by 2010!
