Genzyme, one of the world leaders in medical biotechnology, has just started construction work on its future bioproduction unit in Lyon.

The industrial facility will be located in the Lyon TechSud Business Park, at the heart of the Lyon-Gerland Technology Cluster.

Internationally renowned in the biotechnology sector, this site features leading companies in human and animal healthcare, laboratories, universities and Grandes Ecoles, and offers an environment focused on top-level research and innovation. 
This facility is, amongst other things, integral to Genzyme's objective of developing its industrial capacities in France, and in particular of increasing its production of Thymoglobuline, a polyclonal antibody used for organ and bone-marrow transplants.

The project was conducted with the support of Greater Lyon and Aderly, in powerful synergy with the public and private healthcare stakeholders involved in the global competitivene cluster Lyonbiopôle and the Invest in France Agency (IFA).
