Friday November 6, Taslima Nasreen will receive the medal of honor of the City of Lyon.
The Bangladeshi author, Taslima Nasreen, writes in protest against the oppression of women and the non Muslim minorities in her country. Now exiled in Paris, she is an international symbol of resistance against religious fundamentalism, and continues to write and publish on these issues, in spite of the fatwas and death threats.
After the award ceremony, Taslima Nasreen will give a talk on her fight for equality. The event is in conjunction with the publication of "Femmes en résistance" by Pierre-Yves Ginet.
