Lyon is connected to 112 European and French cities via Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport.

The airport is France's second-largest in terms of air cargo and it is one of Europe's rare multi-modal hubs (plane-train-freeway).

With three TGV high-speed train stations (Part-Dieu, Perrache, Airport), Lyon is at the heart of one of the biggest train networks in Europe (230 TGVs a day), taking passengers quickly to all of France's main cities: 1hr55 to Paris, 1hr35 to Marseille, for example.

Part-Dieu, the largest rail hub in Europe, handles 15 million passengers annually.

... and coming soon, the Lyon-Turin line, the first Transalpine connection: 1hr45 to Turin and 2hr30 to Milan. By 2015, the Transalpine project is expected to carry 7 million passengers and 50 million tons of freight in less than 2 hours. Plans are also underway for a TGV line from Lyon to Barcelona and Frankfurt.

By freeway, Lyon can be reached in a single day by 180 million Europeans.
