Live in Lyon
FIVE GOOD REASONS TO CHOOSE LYON AS YOUR HOME IN FRANCE
A people-friendly European metropolis, Lyon frequently ranks among the best places to live in France and Europe. With its old town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city has preserved the best of its past while constantly looking to the future, as can be seen in its vibrant economy and attractive living environment. The key to this success lies in the ability to offer all the ingredients for personal and professional fulfillment, a rich cultural life and measures to ensure sustainable development. A renowned culinary capital, Lyon is also home to the Olympique Lyonnais soccer club, semi-finalist in the 2010 Champions League.
Lyon: the second largest job market in France
The 1500 decision centers based in the Lyon region make the urban area one of the largest economies in France. This dynamism has also attracted international organizations such as Interpol, Euronews, WHO (World Health Organization) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer. The development of top-ranked clusters (biotechnologies, clean technologies, digital entertainment, ...) has helped attract the best and the brightest to our city. A strong spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship keeps Lyon at the forefront in many fields.
The French lifestyle
Great food, great culture and leisure activities: people in Lyon know how to enjoy the good things in life!
Lyon's cuisine is world-renowned, with 15 Michelin-starred restaurants1 in Lyon and the region. Next to these top names are the famous "bouchon" bistros2 and a wealth of other restaurants all over town for food lovers.

City and Nature living in harmony
The LivCom Awards honor cities which make special efforts in the area of sustainable development and Lyon has won awards twice. Nature has been brought into the heart of the city, the most recent example can be seen on the banks of the Rhone river, transformed into a 6-kilometer de promenade in the city center.
Lyon plays a pioneering role in developing eco-friendly modes of transport, one of which is the much-appreciated Vélo'V city bicycle system, the forerunners of the Parisian Vélib' system.
Close to sea and mountains
With the Lyon-Saint Exupéry international airport and three TGV high-speed train stations, Lyon is connected to all major European cities and the world!
Lyon is only 2 hours by TGV to Paris and 1hr40 to Marseille and the Mediterranean. If it's mountains you prefer, the Alps are a mere 90 minutes away by car!
A city focused on the future
Lyon has launched a series of major projects to prepare the city for the future. The new Carré de Soie retail center, the Oxygène Tower office building and the transformation of the Rhone embankments are just the first steps in this process. The Incity Tower, the new Confluence district, and the OL Land stadium are three other big projects which will keep Lyon among the very best European cities now and for the future.
